On the 31st May 2011 at the Msobomvu Community Hall in the inauguration of the new Council a Council Speaker Cllr N. Magadla and His Worship Executive Mayor Cllr. B.M. Ganjana were duly elected along with Council Chief Whip Cllr Z.M. Mnqwazi. In their speeches with the opposition parties they all committed themselves in bringing about speedy service delivery to the communities of Mnquma.
In the midst where dignified guests in a form of the Deputy Speaker of the Eastern Cape Legislature, the Members of National and Provincial Parliament, Former Mnquma Executive Mayors, Former Councillors, the King of AmaXhosa, King Zwelonke Sigcawu, representatives from all government departments, Walter Sisulu University and King Hintsa FET and members of the community. Council had provided a tent for people to view what was taking place in the main hall as it was full to capacity.
After the main session there was a procession to Belles Conferenece Centre where there was a networking session and NAFCOC presented a message of support to the newly elected Councillors after the KING himself presented the welcoming address to all present. In closing the Executive Mayor delivered the closing address assuring communities of his commitment in bringing quality services in line with the vision of the Municipality.
